Super refreshing Orange Spritz made with just 3 simple ingredients,is the only cocktail you need to drink this summer.Serve this with an antipasto platter for a true Italian aperitivo!!
The art of theAperitivooriginated in Northern Italy and dates back to 1786,and quickly became one of the most iconic and beloved Italian rituals.
If you ask me,getting an aperitivo in a bar or hosting aperitivo at home is one of the most fun Italian experiences.Aperitivo cannot be really compared to the concept of"happy hour"( which involves discounted cocktails).it's more of a ritual,a unique way for the italians to enjoy cocktail time.
Aperitivo is basically a pre-dinner drink, meant to"open"the palate and it gives you a chance to relax, nibble and chat with friends whilst you wait for dinner time.
Good news is,you don't need to be in Italy to enjoy a true italian aperitivo. You can host your own right in the comfort of your home, all you need is a bunch of friends,a batch of refreshing Spritz and a wood board loaded with italian delicacies.
No cooking skills required, you can whip up a stunning little italian aperitivo in no time flat -seriously!!
THE PERFECT DRINK FOR APERITIVO HOUR
It's not aperitivo hour without the iconic italian Spritz, said to have originated in Venice under the Austrian Empire, back in the 1800s.
Well balanced and seriously refreshing,Spritz is a sparkling cocktail that is relatively low in alcohol, making it a brilliant choice for aperitivo time.
The recipe for thisOrange Spritz类似于classic Spritz, with the only difference that orange soda is usedin lieuof soda water.
Plus,it's super-easy to mix up a batch, really. No professional mixologist skills required here.
Ready in just 5 minutes,it definitely makes the perfect cocktail for summer entertaining!!
To make thisOrange Spritzall you need is3 main ingredients:Aperol,Prosecco and orange soda(In Italy we call it aranciata). You also need plenty of ice cubes, sliced oranges and fresh mint for garnish to make it extra refreshing.
What makes this cocktail particularly enjoyable is the light citrusy aromas beautifully combined with bubbly delicious Mionetto prosecco.
The traditional Italian winery was founded back in 1883 in Treviso, and is famous all over the world for its exclusive high-quality sparkling wines and prosecco. For updates on all things bubbles related, pop over theirinstagram page!!
For myOrange SpritzI've used the award-winningMionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut.
It has a lovely fruity bouquet of of Golden Delicious apple, and aromatic notes of honey, black liquorice, and acacia blossom. Light in body and relatively dry style, this Mionetto Prosecco Brut simply works wonderfully well with the bitter citrusy aroma of the other ingredients.
To make theOrange Spritz, simply stir together Aperol, fresh orange slices and orange soda.
Divide the concoction between wine glasses, then finish them with Mionetto prosecco.
ALWAYS add your prosecco at last,so your Orange Spritz stays crisp and bubbly all the way through.
Garnish with fresh mint just before serving, and make sure you serve it alongside some delicious aperitivo snacks.
